About

EdNews Parent is a website/e-mail newsletter providing tip sheets, expert advice, resources and updates on the week’s hottest news related to healthy schools, safe schools and teaching and learning. The site – created in partnership with Education News Colorado and funded by the Colorado Health Foundation – is a free resource for parents interested in education. You can also follow EdNews Parent on Facebook or  Twitter. Provide your e-mail address in the box in the upper right corner to begin receiving the weekly newsletter, or click here. Another unique feature on the site is the Colorado School Data Center where you can find and compare data and information on all schools in Colorado.

We launched EdNews Parent to engage Colorado parents on issues we all care about: teaching and learning, healthy schools and school safety. Whether you live in downtown Denver or Alamosa, many of the issues we face as parents are the same. How do we find the best school for our child? How do we know whether our child is learning what he should be learning? Is my child’s school safe? What can we do to ensure that the food our children eat at school is as healthy as it can be? What do we do if we have conflicts with our children’s teachers?

At EdNews Parent, we provide experts who can answer your questions promptly, weekly round-ups of the hottest school news, a searchable database of every school in the state called the Colorado School Data Center, places where you can share your own experiences and solutions to problems, a resource library, and easily downloadable tip sheets.
