EdNews Parent seeks parent bloggers

Are you passionate about school wellness, ending bullying or improving the quality of public education? Do you like to write and provoke debate about the most pressing education issues of the day? If you answered “yes” to either of these questions, we need you!

EdNews Parent is creating a diverse pool of parent bloggers representing urban, rural and suburban districts across Colorado for the 2012-2013 school year.

The posts will also be featured on EdNews Colorado, the state’s only news service devoted to in-depth coverage of education policy-making and serious analysis of key issues, such as school choice, accountability and education reform.

These are not paid gigs, but it would be fun! Your words would be read by the state’s top policy-makers, teachers, and other engaged parents like you. If you’re interested, send a brief bio and a couple writing samples to editor@ednewsparent.org.

About EdNews Parent: Thanks to generous support from the Colorado Health Foundation, EdNews Parent was launched in fall 2010 as a way to engage Colorado parents on issues we all care about: healthy schools, teaching and learning and and safe schools. It is a free resource for parents across Colorado. Parents are invited to pose questions to our panel of experts, download or share tip sheets, stay updated on the latest news and ultimately join the conversation with other parents, all of whom have some slices of wisdom to share about kids and schools.
